My approach to photography is rooted in traditional values—prioritising composition, lighting, and the intrinsic beauty of each subject. My initial draw to photography was the technology behind the camera, but it's the ability to freeze time and capture the essence of a moment that motivates me to continue. Whether it’s the dynamic atmosphere of esports events or the subtle interplay of light in challenging environments like the blue-lit carpark at Esplanade, I apply my expertise to deliver aesthetically pleasing results while overcoming technical challenges.

One of my favourite experiences was photographing fighting game tournaments, where capturing the spontaneous expressions and intense emotions of players and spectators provided a thrilling challenge. These moments are not only rare but are testaments to what makes photography so rewarding—the ability to document raw, unscripted human emotion.

To ensure the comfort and authenticity of my subjects, I engage with them personally, breaking down the barriers between the camera and their natural demeanour. This approach helps subjects forget the camera and immerse themselves in the moment, allowing me to capture their true selves. When working in unfamiliar settings, I prefer to shoot from a distance using a longer focal length, which minimises intrusion and preserves the candidness of the moment.
